The toll vignette in Slovenia
In Slovenia, all motorways are toll roads. Motorbikes and cars must carry a toll vignette, while drivers of heavier vehicles (such as lorries or buses, but also heavier
motorhomes) must purchase a toll badge.
Caravans and trailers also require a separate.Slovenia vignette.
You can easily buy your toll vignette (or badge) on this website. More information on paying tolls and the toll system in Slovenia can be found here.

Mandatory items to carry in your car
In addition to your toll vignette or toll badge, Slovenia requires you to carry certain items in your car when you are on the road. A warning triangle and safety jacket are mandatory for every driver. Are you travelling with a trailer or caravan?
Then you should take two warning triangles with you! You are not required to carry a first-aid kit and spare lamps for your vehicle (these are only required for vehicles registered in Slovenia), but it is still recommended that you carry them in your car.
When driving in Slovenia, there are a number of mandatory items you must carry with you. In addition to your toll vignette, you also need a warning triangle, a safety vest, a first-aid kit and—in contrast with many other countries—a spare wheel is compulsory.

Refuelling and fuel prices
Whether you need to fill up with petrol, diesel, gas or electric charge, and no matter what type of car you drive to a foreign country, it is always tricky to figure out what to do when it comes to refuelling.
This also applies to Slovenia. You can find all the information you need about refuelling in Slovenia here.

One of the most important to remember is that when reversing, you should switch on your hazard warning lights. We have listed other deviations from the UK’s traffic regulations, as well as the similarities, here. It’s a good read!
