GENERAL QUESTIONS

Since the introduction of the French environmental zones, an environmental sticker is required to drive your car into these zones.

The environmental sticker you purchase is determined by the degree to which your car pollutes. It must be applied to the windscreen of your vehicle.
If you drive into an environmental zone, a sticker is mandatory. This also applies to foreign vehicles. If you do not have an eco-vignette, you could face a fine of at least €68.
Many French cities, including Paris, Marseille, Lyon and Lille, now have environmental zones in place. If you remain outside of these zones, you do not require an environmental sticker. If you are visiting one of the major French cities, you will almost always need one.
You can apply for a sticker at https://evignette.co.uk/vignette-france/. All we need is your car’s registration number and your address. We do not require a registration certificate.
Applying for an environmental sticker only takes two minutes.

Yes, you will receive your environmental sticker by post. The sticker is sent by post and usually takes around 10 business days to arrive. If you leave for France sooner, you should print out the digital certificate you receive from us and display it on your dashboard.

For British vehicles, the sticker is valid as long as the license plate remains on the vehicle. If you change your car, you will have to apply for a new sticker for that new vehicle.

For British vehicles, the sticker is valid as long as there are no new, stricter rules that affect the colour of the sticker. For example, by raising the standards, your car could be placed in a higher polluting category.
The colour of the sticker depends on the degree to which your car pollutes. We are unable to make a statement on this.
